Thanks
for making eigoMANGA
CAMPUS INVASION 2004
a smashing success!
On May
14, 2004, eigoMANGA
hosted Campus Invasion
at San Francisco State
University. Outside
the Student Union, vendors
managed lines of people
waiting to purchase
their anime merchandise.
eigoMANGA had its own
booth set up-the company
gave away promotional
items, such as T-shirts
and trading cards. Following
last year’s tradition,
a number of up-and-rising
musical artists performed
– pop singer Natalise,
punk rock band Holden,
and Japanese rock band
Ownerless Dog were this
year’s crowd magnets.
After the performances,
a dozen Cosplay contestants
competed for the best
anime costume.
In the Student Union,
eigoMANGA set up a theatre
for a daylong film screening.
Comic Party, Dangaizer,
and Heat Guy J were
among the anime films
that played. In a separate
room, panel speakers
from anime publishing
companies, such as Comics
One, facilitated informative
discussions on anime
drawing and career prospects.
Campus Invasion also
provided a forum in
which anime fans and
students were able to
learn about voting via
eigoMANGA’s collaboration
with MTV’s Rock
the Vote.
